The walk is est 7 miles. Allow 4 hours at a liesurely pace with occasional stops to view buildings, historical sites, and landmarks. The IRT traverses the sites of the first anthracite fueled iron company and the first Portland Cement Company in America, both of which contributed to the Industrial Revolution in the late 1800’s. Forcast is a warm day. Dress accordingly. Bring water. Meet at the Whitehall Parkway Barn on Chestnut St west of MacArthur Road by the traffic light at Scheetz. 9 am.
