Discover Hugh Moore Park’s fascinating past as an industrial and transportation mecca in the 19th and early 20th centuries during two one-hour, guided walking tours – From Water to Iron.  The 1:00pm “Water” tour will take walkers along the Lehigh River to the locktender’s house and then back along the canal, highlighting how these bodies of water helped to spur America’s Industrial Revolution.  At 2:15pm, the story continues as participants on the “Iron” walk explore the remnants of the Glendon Iron Works and learn about the other industries that once made their home along Section 8 of the Lehigh Canal.

The walks are $5 each and leave from the National Canal Museum. Group sizes will be limited to 10 people.  Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.  Participants must have masks with them, but are only required to wear them during tour stops.  Tours will be cancelled for rain or other inclement weather.
