This walk will begin at the Greater Wyoming YMCA (40 W Northampton St. Wilkes Barre), and be led by Alice Wanamaker. The walk will take guests through Historic Wilkes Barre along the Riverfront and past the Train Station featuring downtown neighborhoods, history, walking and health, architecture and new development in Wilkes-Barre. Learn how Wilkes-Barre became known as “The Diamond City” and the role the Greater Wyoming Valley played in the American Industrial Revolution. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
