Get Your Tail on the Trail

The Tail on the Trail coordinators from D&L and St. Luke’s are partnering with Northern Lehigh Recreation and Lehigh Gap Nature Center to provide a special event on RTC’s Opening Day for Trails!

Where: Slatington Trailhead for D&L Trail and Slate Heritage Trail (99 Main St. Slatington, PA 18080)

Join us in Slatington for a bike ride as we kick-off the trail season with Opening Day for Trails! The D&L will highlight the work that is going on with the local steering committee to make Slatington a D&L Trail Town. See the improvements at the trailhead and receive promotions from local businesses.

There will be two options for bike rides:

1. For those new to biking or limited on time, we will have a 2 mile ride to Lehigh Gap Nature Center where we will enjoy a short environmental program before biking back to the trailhead (4 miles roundtrip). Don’t have a bike? The D&L can bring you one if you RSVP to the Facebook event and request a bike.
2. For experienced bike riders, join the We Like Bikes group ride that will leave from the Slatington Trailhead and go all the way to Jim Thorpe (approximately 38 miles).

So whether you are new to biking or a seasoned pro, we hope you join us to celebrate the start of the trail season and the first week of the Move More in April Challenge!
