WILKES-BARRE FAMILY YMCA

Walk to the site of the former South Branch of the YMCA on South Main Street, originally serving the African-American community, and learn about Wilkes-Barre’s African-American community past and present. Walk Leader: Pastor Michael Brewster, Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring water
  • In the event of extreme heat or rain, the walk will be postponed to the following day at the same time
  • Departing promptly at 6:00 pm from the YMCA lobby

 

Y Walk Wednesdays is a series of free, guided evening walks featuring downtown neighborhoods, history, walking and health, architecture, wildlife and new development in Wilkes-Barre.
