Mount Wismer Hike: Gravel Family Preserve
The hike to the top of Mount Wismer is worth the trek. Enjoy the calls of wetland birds and amphibians as we start our journey near the source waters of the Middle Branch of Brodhead Creek. The ascent to the top is steep and rocky going but once you reach the vista you can see for miles around. Enjoy views of the Water Gap, Big Pocono and Shawnee Mountain in the distance all while exploring a little known trail right in your own backyard.
This is a moderate to strenuous 4 mile loop hike with several changes in elevation that may be slippery at this time of year. Sections of the trail may be wet or muddy and there are rocky patches on some stretches.
Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to attend (in fact there’s a dog park on site!) Small children may find this hike too strenuous.
