Tail on the Trail Special Event: Walk With A Doc at Trexler

Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 10:00am starting from Lehigh Valley Zoo main parking lot

Join us for this exciting opportunity to get your tail on the trails of Trexler Nature Preserve, learn some healthy living tips from Dr. Jones and Dr. Agarwal of St. Luke’s University Health Network, and receive a $2 discount on same day admission to the Lehigh Valley Zoo for Community Health Day!

This free walk will begin with a short educational session from the doctors followed by a 30-45 minute walk. The walk is a loop that will begin in the main parking lot of the zoo. We will then travel along the Jordan Creek behind the Zoo, then back up to the parking lot. Along the way you will pass the Jordan Creek Ford, which you’ll drive through on your way home. The loop is just under a mile. For those looking to do more, a second lap will help you get 30+ minutes in!

After participating in the Walk with a Doc event, all walkers will get a stamp good for $2 off same-day admission to the Zoo so you can log even more miles while you enjoy the animals and visit multiple exhibitors for fun activities, health tips, and giveaways during the special Community Health Day event presented by St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Looking for more of a hike? There are plenty of trails to explore for free in the surrounding 1,108 acres of Trexler Nature Preserve, owned and maintained by Lehigh County.

165 Kick off is Cancelled

Our kickoff event for May 5th, 2024 at Sand Island in Bethlehem has been canclled due to rain. Due to the temperatures, the level of rain that has fallen, and will continue to fall, and the overall safety of our participants we have regrettfully decided to cancel the kick off event for the day. The 2024 165 Challenge began May 1 and runs through November 10th this year. Log 165 miles during this time to earn this challenge.
