Bundle up and keep moving with our annual 30 Miles in 30 Days Winter Challenge. Starting January 31 through March 1, log 30 miles to earn our 2026 badge plus an incentive mailed right to you. The annual Winter Challenge aims to motivate users to get outdoors and remain active at a time of year when most of us have lost our steam. Kick off your challenge goals with this special event hosted by our D&L chapter at the start of the challenge. This unique gathering is designed to set you on the right track. Plus, connect with our rich online community for inspiration to cross that finish line.
Join the D&L Chapter on Saturday, January 31, from 1 – 3 pm on the porch of the National Canal Museum in Easton. To kick things off, we’ll hear from Cardiologist Devang Dave, MD on “Building Heart Health, One Step at a Time” about activities to improve heart health, other things that you can do to keep your heart healthy, and when to see a heart doctor. Guided walks will also be offered for 1, 2, and 3-mile loops along the towpath, in addition to self-guided walks. Group walks are scheduled to take off at 1:15 at staggered intervals. Stop by the information table to talk to the St. Luke’s team, enter into a lottery for some free SWAG, and grab some refreshments and snacks.
Group exercise is a great way to stay motivated. Offering both community and accountability, signing up for a group hike, walk, or other workout might just be the external motivation needed to brave the cooler temps. Our events welcome all experience levels, so bring a friend! Join us for one of our kickoffs or other Tail on the Trail-approved events by visiting tailonthetrail.org. Remember, badges can be earned concurrently, so make sure to log your group exercise toward the group explorer badge.
This winter, commit to movement with our winter challenge. Whether you log a single mile daily or the course of the challenge, or longer distances every couple of days, 30 miles are within reach. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and share photos from your adventures using #tailonthetrail.
Sunday, February, 1 will be our snow date.
The event is FREE, but registration is required.
