DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin Carol Hillestad for a strenuous hike to a viewpoint at
  1\,700 feet on Spruce Mountain. Registration required.\n\nWHERE: Spruce 
 Lake Retreat\, Barrett Township\, Pa. Register for directions. Ample parki
 ng. Restrooms available at the beginning and end of the hike.\n\nNOTE: Tr
 ail is 2.5 miles round trip and very difficult — rocky\, wet\, and steep
  with about 400 feet elevation change. Some climbing. Boots\, hiking stick
 \, and good balance required.\n\nCOST: The $5 per-person fee is covered f
 or registered hikers\, and includes access to other resort facilities fo
 r the day. Open to the public at other times for a day-use fee of $5\, pay
