With guidance from an exper ienced outdoor educator\, kids will come face-to-face with a new and diffe rent world – the underwater world of a creek bed.\n\nFish? Yes … but s o much more! Snails and worms\, turtles and frogs\, about a zillion kinds of insects and dozens of plant species\, from cattails and grasses to tiny algae. Water striders zoom the surface of still waters. Dragonflies zip a round creek banks.\n\nThe bottom of Cherry Creek is the whole world to the critters that live there. Put on a facemask and snorkel and come learn ab out it yourself!\n\nThis event is part of the Water Wiser Kids Series spon sored by Brodhead Watershed Association\, funded by a Dr. Claus Jordan End owment Grant from Lehigh Valley Health Network Pocono Foundation.\n\nIF YO U GO: Snorkeling in Cherry Creek\n\nWHEN: 2pm to 4pm Saturday\, Aug. 17\, 2019\n\nWHERE: Cherry Valley. Register for directions.\n\nNOTE: This progr am is very weather dependent. If the water is too high or murky\, if thund er and lightning are present\, or if the water or air temperature is too c old\, we may need to postpone/cancel. This is the last creek snorkeling ev ent of 2019.\n\nCOST: Free\, but registration is required and limited to 2 5 participants.\n\nThe program is intended for elementary-age children\, t hough older children and parents may take part. Kettle Creek will provide sterilized snorkels and masks and a life jacket (which must be worn) to ea ch participant.
